Algebra

A small subcontractor for a large shoe company
does the cutting and gluing for walking shoes and jogging
shoes. Each pair of walking shoes requires 2 minutes' cutting
time and 4 minutes' gluing time. Each pair of jogging shoes
requires 3 minutes' cutting time and 2 minutes' gluing time.
The subcontractor has two employees who do the cutting and
three employees who do the gluing and guarantees that each
will work 30 hours per week. The cost of materials is $8 for
each pair of walking shoes and $10 for each pair of jogging
shoes, with an overhead cost of $200. How many pairs of each
type of shoe should be made during the week to minimize total
material costs?
