1. How much do you charge?
I do offer discounts based on the number of
hours per week of tutoring. My rate schedule is given below:

Since I am based in Rockland County, clients
outside of Rockland will pay an additional $20 per hour for
the increased travel time. If the tutoring hours are consecutive,
however, the $20 travel fee will only be applied to the first
hour.
2. Where does tutoring take place?
Most clients take advantage of the convenience
of home tutoring, so most of my tutoring occurs right at your
house. The second most common meeting place would be a local
library. The fact is, tutoring can take place anywhere we
can sit at a table and have a reasonably quiet atmosphere
in which to learn. I have tutored people in hospital cafeterias,
in their cars, even at Dunkin Donuts!
3. Do you guarantee the results of your tutoring?
No, but not for lack of confidence in my abilities
to help people learn. Tutoring is a partnership that depends
on the student as much as the tutor. If students do little
or no work on their own, minimal benefit will be derived from
tutoring. On the other hand, I promise my clients that if
a student works hard when I’m not there, and collects
questions and problems to ask me about when we’re together,
you can expect great things to happen.
